It would help if we know what lake your going to.
I have reservations for the first week in May. What are the hotels and resorts like now? Are out-of-towners coming? Or are you all still seeing activitiy?

Supposedly May 1st is like the magic date, after that we're supposed to start returning to normal.....who knows if that will actually be the case. Until then, out-of-state people are supposed to stay out of Kentucky according the to governor.
From a news article a few days ago:
Beshear extended the policy of no in-person instruction in schools through at least Friday, May 1. He announced an executive order expanding travel restrictions to where out-of-state people travelling into Kentucky need to quarantine for fourteen days “wherever they’re coming.” People who are just stopping for gas in the state are not included in the order.
“We have to make sure we don’t have folks who are travelling in, staying two days and leaving because that frustrates everything that we are trying to do right now,” he said.

Don't know what lake you're talking about, but there is an executive order the guys are talking about even though the Ohio, Indiana & Tn. folks don't seem to listening to it. Evidently they could care less about possibly bringing more covid-19 with them & passing it on to others. There are pleasure boats loaded with drunks & jet skis running everywhere too. I wish they'd start turning them around at every ramp & fining them if they're bunching up partying on the water. It's a shame to have the attitude i do towards them, but this is very serious times right now & the last thing we need in my opinion is a bunch of drunks running around on the water like everything is just honky dorey.
fishingcrazy, I have the same problem. Motel and Guide reservations on the 2nd week of May at Ky/Barkley. (staying on KY side, but could fish either Lake). Will wait another week to see what the Governor has to say on when he thinks the restrictions will or will not be removed. I he has no educated guess that I feel good about, I' start cancelling my reservations shortly. Will hope for better chances maybe in June.
fishincrazy thanked you for this post
I would call the place you have reservations with to see what their plan is. I have reservations for 4/19-4/25 and have stayed in contact with their office. Also, i have called other places to see what they were doing in case current reservations get cancelled. Cray times unfortunately.

Unless you have a secret honey hole that is ten times better than the other hundreds of boats catching 2 or 3 keepers a day, I'd go somewhere where Asian carp don't cloud your electronics screen out. Sorry for the bad news.

Tune into the Andy show on Facebook or youtube every day at 5 pm! There is no "Magic Date" that can be foretold without testing results and we are nowhere near having the kind of numbers we need to relax restrictions. We haven't peaked yet in KY! I want to fish as much as anyone, I will not be staying anywhere overnight except my house until Governor Beshear says so. He won't until it is safe, economics and predicted election results are not something this virus is concerned with, neither is the condition of my freezer!. A day trip with my wife should be okay as long as we can stay away from others.
By the way i wasn't insinuating you were a drunk. I don't think for a second that fishermen are the problem with the exception of having tournaments. I like tournaments, but i wouldn't fish one at all right now because it's simply to dangerous to risk being around someone that could have possibly have it.
