Thread: SPRING FLING @ GREEN 2020 is CANCELLED ... Sorry Folks !!

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that the Spring Fling has to be cancelled due to the COE shutting down the public use facilities (picnic shelters/campgrounds) at Green River Lake, plus the CDC recommendation to limit group gatherings to no more than 10 people, due to the COVID-19 Virus situation. It was already an iffy situation, what with the flooded lake & forecast rains, but this new situation was the last straw.

I'm hoping that anyone that has cabin reservations can call & cancel asap in order to get their deposit returned. I will be contacting the COE in order to see if I can get my shelter rental fee returned.

I'm going ahead and cancelling the event, now, so that those who were planning on attending can make alternate plans with any work related vacation time or any other plans they had to attend the event.

All the Sponsor Donations we've received will be kept & used for a Fall Brawl @ Green ... tentatively scheduled for sometime later this year (likely in Sept or Oct ... with respect to the CUSA Classic & Fishing with Veterans event dates). Hopefully all this COVID-19 Virus situation will be over, or at least mitigated to the point where these restrictions have been lifted.

Well that stinks, but this whole situation stinks much worse. Thanks for all you do to get this together Pappy. It's one of the few times of the year I can get both my kids in the boat at the same time. They have always loved it. Everyone be safe out there.See y'all this fall.
