    Default Humminbird Helix 12 gn2 vs 10 gn3

Hey guys wanted to get your opinion on Humminbird SI units I'm looking into. Can get a Helix 12 Mega SI chirp G2 for same or less than a Helix 10 Mega SI chirp G3. Was wondering if you'd do a bigger screen or better detail? I'll be using it for my front unit to find brushpiles and look at SI while long line trolling. Looks like G3 is a little better imaging but was wondering if you have a bigger screen would help with old eyes.
I'd be interlinking the two if compatible. Thanks for your input.

If MEGA 360 is ever in your future - you must have MEGA+ G3N ...

Will SI work off a trolling motor mounted transducer? I would think there would be logistical issues. Just asking the experts here

In order to get best image for side view your boat should be traveling approx 3-6 mph and in the straightest line possible. Mounting on trolling motor certainly is possible but the turning of head will not give you the clearest image.
Most operate from console with transducer mounted on transom marking structure, fish, etc. creating waypoints and then have front unit networked with rear using the front to return to those areas. Then switching to down imaging.
    Get the Gen 3N unit.
You cannot upgrade the Gen 2 to be the the standards of Gen 3 units.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks guys I've had SI on my trolling motor for several years and it does ok but does better going faster for sure. I'll probably go with the G3 even though I have a new Garmin Livescope and might just try that up front without anything else for a while. I"ve got SI on the console and think I can get close enough to brush with that then zero in with Livescope...so far its amazing!
