Gotcha... Thanks!
I have some heavy action casting rods fromGander Mountain. I think they’re called Vortex( sitting in Murfreesboro, AR waiting for my new trailer for 230 ). I can probably use my 7’ Berkley Cherrywood medium heavy rods.

I love the conversation here! Me and my uncle are just starting to try this. Been pulling the Bandit 300s and Arkies so far. We have caught a few good ones doing it. The question we keep asking is how fast to pull them. We have been idling the main and going about 2.2 mph. Is that too fast? Too slow?

Gotta let the fish tell you that. I usually start around 1.5 mph and adjust from there. I've caught them as slow as 0.9 and as fast as 2.0 mph.

My best speed has been 1.8mph but with that cold front that moved in 1.6 seemed better. Try the Jenko cranks. Jenko Fishing They are a little different body. sorta have an edge on top on each side. If you are trolling with your big motor try a trolling plate to slow you down abit!!

I normally put on 3 Jenko and 3 Pico on the 6 rods I troll with, they've been pretty much dead even on catch rate. I'm still experimenting with some others, like the Bomber 6A and a few of those cheap H20 baits from Academy.
I'm trolling with a Terrova, using the cruise control and advanced autopilot with my iPilot Link system. I usually start at 1.5 mph and adjust up or down....usually if I catch one while making a turn it gives me a good indicator on whether or not to slow down or speed up.
