    Default Slab Daddy or BnM?

Been wanting to try spider rigging on my pontoon. Last fall I found 2 Slab Daddy combos on sale and bought them. First time I got the line between the spool and gear cover.

While looking for schematics to see how to take apart and reinstall everything, I found a site where the posters said this is a common fault that Mr. Crappie corrected on newer reels. It is possible Mr. Crappie might replace it.

Now I did not expect too much. They are less than $20 and are just line holders, but I don't want a jam when the action is hot. I also don't want a replacement if it too does not work well.

    Anybody used both?

I plan to try the rod on some bluegill nests in my pond this week. They might be fun on bluegill nests.

I did not see any nests on Green River Lake Thursday.

Don’t think you’ll get a replacement. I’d go with the bnm bucks graphite jig pole with the cheapest spinning reel I could find and never look back. I started with 4 of those slab daddy’s and broke all four tips. Never broke a bgjp yet. Good luck
    Keep on keepin on!!!
