    Default They're not all gone

With all the speculation about our fisheries being destroyed because of high water and Asian carp, I found this pic to be interesting. The person who shot it wouldn't say where it was other than on Barkley or KY Lakes. It was caught in a carp gill net, photoed, and released unharmed.

    I'm guessing 8 pounds?

I tell guys all the time that the fish in the lake didn't just vanish into thin air, they're still in there. I believe the fish in these lakes just have changed their habits due to the added carp. I believe the fish don't group up like they used to, they are more scattered and suspend a lot more. You need to just throw past tactics and patterns out the window and start fresh with a new approach. I'm a long-time bass fisherman, and I've found in the past two years that in summer, trolling has produced far more consistent catches of bass than pulling up on a specific spot on a ledge and trying to pull several bass from a school that no longer hangs out there.

You know I was being sarcastic about the high water and carp? There are actually folks who think every fish in KY Lake will be sucked thru the dam and replaced by fish sucked thru Pickwick Dam. I kid you not!
