Could you harvest them with a bow? I know it would make no difference in the population, just more of a curiosity. I'd like to try a few in hot oil or on the grill myself

There are two varieties....Bigheads and Silver that are our problem. Those are Bighead and that's how they look when they feed on surface matter.
The Silvers are the ones that jump bad from vibration.
It is truly a plague of Biblical proportions.
My wife was telling me about a friend that was moving back to Canada. She said it's crazy how stringent customs was on bring back anything from the US.
I said " there is a good reason for that'.
And this weather is near a plague too...High 80's to 90's with high humidity in MAY...it's downright depressing. It ain't as if we ain't got enough of that coming anyway. I near froze some days in March and April....think I got to fish three days in early May when it was about 70 that's it. Heck the water is approaching 80 now.
Mrdux brought us some AC "nuggets" at our Spring Fling last year .... they got the hot oil treatment, right along with the Crappie fillets. I ate a few and they were "alright" ... they have a denser meat than other sport fish I've eaten. That being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to catch & clean one for the meat, nor would I pay the exorbitant prices at a "high class" restaurant that served them. BUT ... if they were in the waters where I fish, I WOULD gladly go out of my way to "put down" as many of them as I could. I figure every two of them I kill means a few thousand more that will never get born.
Just yesterday was in Big Sandy. It was a unusual calm morning and also before all the skiers came out. I could see schools of huge Asian carps everywhere up at the top of the water sucking in the plankton. I hate it.
