Default This years Red Ear Fishing

Last year I made my first trip to Barkley to specifically target Red Ear. I want to make this an annual tradition now, and I want to put my Dad on some Red Ears, as he has never caught one of the really big ones, if he has ever even caught one at all.

With this crazy weather this year, when should I look at coming down this year? We came down on May 21st last year. I was thinking the last two weeks of May should be good, but would that be too soon for prime-time red ear fishing this year?

    What do you think?

Here's a nice one from last night that I caught. It was caught in 3-4ft of water on redworms. They're behind schedule this year because of the chilly days we've had. New moon and full moon should be really good this May...Name: 20180429_192413.jpg
