    FWIW. Had a guy go overboard sailing in South Africa wearing a Mustang auto/manual. It didn't inflate until we beat it into submission later in the evening.

    problem is A LOT of guys and gals have them but they're just lying around in the boat someplace. They're NO GOOD no matter the brand IF YOU'RE NOT WEARING THEM ! just saying.

    Some states you have to be wearing the inflatable pfd for it to count as a device. If all you have on board is this type pfd and you dont have it on, you can be ticketed.
