So Green River is going to stat at 9"? You need to make plans to come to spring fling this year.
Wanted to give everyone a heads up on new fishing regulations that will go into effect on March 1, 2018.
The most significant for our crew:
The statewide daily creel limit for crappie will be 20 fish per angler per day.
Taylorsville Lake: Crappie minimum size limit is being raised to 10"
Anglers using jugs, trot lines or limb lines must now use the Customer Identification Number provided on their fishing license to tag their jugs, trot lines and limb lines instead of their name and address.
Barren River Lake: Blue and Channel Catfish will be under a 15-fish daily creel limit, only one fish may be longer
than 25"
Statewide daily creel limit on trout will be 8 fish. The statewide daily creel limit for brown trout is now 1 fish with a 16" minimum size limit.
There will be several other regulation changes made that pertain to smaller State Owned Lakes. These regulations changes can be viewed on the KDFWR website, FW.KY.GOV by the end of January. New print version of the guides should be out by mid February.
*Remember all of our fishing and hunting guides detail regulation changes at the front of each guide. The new regulations are always printed in blue. As you go through the guide and come across the section where the new regulation is applicable, it also will appear in blue print.

Yes sir Tim, Green River is going to remain at 9" along with Barren, for now. I'm going to try like heck to make it over this year to visit with all you guys. Past couple of years we've had a kids fishing tournament here locally that's prevented me from coming. All this ice is killing me! I need to get on the water!
Thanks for posting that info, Brad .... always good to keep our guys up to date on things.
M R Dux thanked you for this post
badbrad - For floats which number on my present license is the Customer Number the License number or FW #?

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
Can we " register" our number like we do for trapping?
You don't have to register for a Customer Id number like the Trapper Id. On your new 2018 license there will be a 1-8 designating the year 2018 and directly below it in large bold print will be "Customer ID" with your ID number below it.
Clint thanked you for this post
Seems things would be simpler if customer id and trapper id were the same, I already have trap tags that could be used
Does the customer ID change every year? I know my trapping ID stays the same that would be sweet to be able to use that number.
It is what it is!
Or why wasn't the customer ID# used as trapper ID, then we could use trap tags
