Mickey1982, the rules each year have the 'Statewide' limits sizes/creel limits listed, but most of this time this is USELESS. You have to look at EACH individual lake, stream, river for the custom limits which are NOT STATEWIDE. Drives me crazy.
Almost every lake/river/stream in KY does not have a 'Statewide' size/creel limit for all fish, but there may be a few that do. All I can say is that you will need to look at signs at each ramp on each lake/stream/river when you put in to make sure you know the special limits (exceptions) at each lake/stream, river. I think if the exception rules are not posted at each ramp for each lake/stream/Rive, then 'Statewide' rules apply But, this is probably not true since a lot of the ramps don't post the exceptions on streams and Rivers which I think is a problem. If they want to inforce all these pile of exceptions from the 'Statewide' limits the DNR would make sure the exceptions would be posted at every access point in the state. This is not too complicated if you fish only one lake, but is a pain if you fish several lakes/streams/rivers.

Brad, can you edit and put the creel/size limit for both KY and Barkley on your post? Tons of lurkers that take that statewide reg as the gospel and play stupid at the cleaning stations because they don't bother to read lake specific regulations.
Well said Pappy! and you are correct, nothing changed with size/creel on Kentucky and Barkley. Taylorsville remains 15 fish creel but 10" size limit. Guys just need to refer to the fishing guide for specific regulations regarding each lake. The information is also available on our website, FW.KY.GOV.

The department needs to spring for some big creel/size limit billboards to place on every state highway that leads to the lakes. Like the ones at the ramps but sized like the ones for Cracker Barrel.

If k.f.w. did that there would be no need. They would have no money for wardens and personel. Then no fish or animals to hunt. Some people do not know when enough is enough.
Fish hard live hard.
They could always sell a few elk.
