    Default Cumberland report

Anyone been to Cumberland the last week? Don't need to know specifics just wondering what depth I should target?

There must not be anyone on here that fishes Cumberland, lol. Well I'll give you my report. I put in at Pleasant Hill boat ramp, fished the Caney Creek area. Fished from daylight to about 4, caught 1 crappie, around 11.5 inches. We were using minnows and bobby garland, southern pro baits, all different colors. Fished depths from 5 ft of water all the way out to 50 ft. They had lockjaw, I could find fish but couldn't provoke a bite. Talked to some fisherman on the water who had heard people had been catching them. Water looked good, more than likely the problem was my fishing skills and not the fish. Beautiful day to be on the water though.

They were in the ad of the Creeks, had 3@ 16in Sunday, 18 keepers nothing under 12in.Monday 16 11-13in all were 4ft in 7fow, stripers showed up and ruined the party
Had 12 today, found them late 15-20fow tight to the bottom in thick brush, they're hiding from the stripers

Caught 17 nice keepers and a ton of short fish yesterday in a creek in the Conley Bottom area. Fished slip bobber 2 ft deep with minnows. Also caught a few on a jig. Water was 3 to 6 ft. Fish bit best from 3pm to 6:30pm when I quit.

Wednesday only 12 in 3 to 37 fow. Last Wednesday we had 45 keepers all in 20 fow. About half on jigs last week and maybe 2 on jig Wednesday. They had moved looks like I should have stayed more in the 3 fow.....lol

Fished a creek down near Conley Bottom Marina again yesterday. Tried to keep an accurate count of results. From 9:30am til 6pm I caught 112 crappie, 2 bluegill and 3 bass. Ended up with 20 keepers (very nice ones). Probably released at least 40 crappie just shy of the 10 inch mark. Fished with minnows and a slip bobber 2 ft deep in the back of the creek, 4 to 6 ft of water. It was a busy, but very enjoyable day.

BTW, some of the fish were caught on the new "minnow-colored" Bobby Garland jig. It works really well.
