Advice - seat pedestal

My current seat pedestal moves a lot when fishing(front to back) I have the cheap system from Wal-Mart and would like advice as to what would wok better. I have the millennium seats.

I found the welds on the 3/4" pin bases at WalMart were almost non-existant. I bought some for Gander that were much better welded. I beefed up the welds on mine. If you are getting rocking motion and it's coming from the pole, replace it. I had a 175 pound man try to use one of mine as a rocking chair and the pole had to be thrown away. It loosened up top and bottom. They are just press-fitted. If the movement is your base, you need to figure a way to beef it up under the deck.

I'm thinking of getting lock on or screw in pole to boat base. That way there's no rocking.

Thats what I have on mine....tighten them real good with a pipe wrench or they will work loose tho
