Awesome prices on Arkie cranks. I found the 350's and will be putting order together soon!
A bad day on the water is always better than a good day at work!

Got out yesterday an pulled some crank baits on Malone. I ran over an area and the screen went black with bait and fish, thought this would be the mother load day. Right! Tried changing depths, colors, and size but they just weren't having any of it. Ran into three other boats, two minnow fishing, the third was pulling jigs. All of them made me feel better as they had one or two. We wound up with one big bruiser gill and ten crappie which two of them being blacks. While talking to the fellas pulling jigs, they shared that they pull Arkies when they pull crank baits and even gave me the web site where they buy. arkie crappie crankbaits, crank baits, arkie, crappie - The Snare Shop
Not all Arkie colors are available at Walmart. Best part of the day, it was cool enough to wear a hoody for that first run through a little fog, and the leaves jogged my memory, they do come in colors other than green.

Congrats on a fine trip. Good pics.
I'm new to this type of fishing. Is it better to troll crank-baits or jigs? Can you help me with some color choices?

That's a tough question. It would be like standing in among twenty of your best hunting buddies on opening day of dove season and asking what model shotgun is best for dove.
For me it depends on where the thermocline in summer lays in the lake you fish. Recently I've been fishing a lake where the thermocline has been 10-12' down and been pulling cranks at the 8' level. No right or wrong, figuring out which process works best for you. Which one you can make work and you enjoy.

Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
If I were looking for arkies I would check out Rees post in the member sponsor for sale section. I do use them but usually the 350 series.

Pulling jigs will catch crappie 12 months out the year if you put it in front of them.
I prefer to "push" jigs, if I'm not casting them. Pushing crankbaits is second to pushing jigs, but that's only because I don't have the equipment to push cranks effectively ... at least not for very long. (not to mention that I'm a stone rookie at pushing cranks )
Colors that I know work :
bright orange
pink (both dark & bright)
black (with or w/o silver metalflake)
crawdad
red/black
chartreuse
most colors with chartreuse
purple
Or in other words ... pretty much the same colors as the more popular jigs.
(your mileage may vary !! )
Good deal
