Really didn't expect to get to fish today but worked out so that I could. Intended to give the gills and redear some attention but I have a hard time peeling away if the crappie are willing to cooperate. Needless to say the lake is a mess, have to be careful out there, but the fish don't care at the moment.

Be on KY Lake rest of the week myself. Kept the crappie longline poles on the boat. Gonna hit crappie and gills both.

I fished Barkley yesterday afternoon tried for red ear and crappie but didn't have any luck for either one, I tried jigging brush piles at all different depths.

Caught fish from 7-26fow, 15-16ft was probably best. They are more concentrated by small localized areas right now than depth pattern right now. Can be frustrating when they are like that, at least to me.

Should have said though I guess, I forget everyone doesn't know me but those fish were caught jigging wood.

I have been catching fish good up about 3 weeks ago, but I still was catching 10 or so fish a trip, till yesterday, I got skunked, frustrated doesn't come close to how I felt.. lol

My scale is on the fritz but she is probably only the second fish over 2.25 I have caught this year.

Wouldn't worry too much about it, crappie on the north end of Kentucky/Barkley a week either side of May 15th are generally very tricky. These were more than likely just confused.
