It's been a while since I've been down here but my wife is wanting to come down to Ky Lake and the last time we came down we stayed at the Cabins at Ken Lake SP. I'm usually down every year myself but I normally camp at Hillman Ferry, she hates camping and needs TV & Wi-Fi. From what I remember the cabins were pretty nice but there wasn't much room for keeping a boat at the cabin. I like keeping the boat with us so I can keep an eye on it plus I want to be able to recharge my batteries.
So my question is am I remembering correctly, can you keep your boat at your cabins at Ken Lake? Are some of the cabins better suited to keep a boat at than others. What cabin numbers are better suited for a boat? Boat is a 17'6" deep-v so it's not a monster.
TIA.

I've never had luck there. I am currently reporting from a cabin at KY Dam Village where there is plenty of room for your boat at the cabins.

"You should have been here yesterday!!!

At KY Dam there are plugs at each cabin. You may need a pretty long extension cord.

Check this place out. I've been staying here for many years. It's three minutes to the Kenlake ramp and six to Jonathon creek.Boat parking and hookups right outside your door. Good tv and wifi too.
And they love members of crappie.com. Tell them you know me, if you choose to stay there.

I hope the Early American is under new ownership. The last time I stayed there about 3 years ago it was in pretty sad shape. The sink in our bath had a stopped drain and it never got fixed. It is cheap and it is convenient but I know my wife would not stay there and we are just very average people and don't require a lot to make us happy.
We stay at Ken lake the time. Some of the cabin are fine for a boat, stay away from cabins 260 thru 275 no parking.

Ok, I just have to throw this out there. I really enjoy reading some of the post on here but have to say it's pretty sad when someone post a ? For some info and the next thing you know someone is bashing something some one is offering to the public such as the motel mentioned above. I have stayed there several times and no it's not your holiday inn and its price is not either and from there side of the fence it's not all profit I'm sure and sometimes ppl just do the best they can do. Sometimes your just better off to think it, type it and then delete it.

I'm okay with both good and bad reports. It's good to see what peoples experiences are, both good and bad. I don't consider it bashing if someone had a bad experience and posts it.
I looked at the web site for the Early American Hotel. It looks to me exactly like the places we used to stay at when we went to Weiss Lake in Alabama. Heck it may even be a little nicer than some of them. I think my wife is looking more at wanting to stay at a "cabin" vs a "motel" but I'm going to pass this info and on to her and let her decide.
It's probably been close to 15 years since we stayed at Ken Lake State Park and about all I kept the boat at the marina but I had a had to unhook the trailer form my truck in order to keep it at the cabin.
It just seemed odd to me to not have boat parking available at the cabins at one of Ky's most popular destinations.
If I were coming by myself I or with my fishing buddies I wouldn't hesitate to book a stay at the Early American.
