    Default Tville 4/2/17 Report

Finally got to go fishing after working all this crazy overtime, plus a bunch of other life events happening around us. I took my wife and kids to Tville for the evening after we got home from church and grabbed a bite to eat.

We got to the lake at about 4 and loaded up at about 7:30. The water was pretty muddy around Settlers Trace and down towards the dam, but cleared up nicely as we went up river. Water temp was 60 when we got there and cooled off to about 58 in places before we left.

Spider rigging produced just as much as casting jigs in proven spawning areas of mine. Couple males have started to color up but not all of them we caught had hormoned up yet. Seems like to me the females are staging around brush in 12-18 ft water while males have just started to prepare nests.

The males have a noticeable increase in thump, thickness, and fight. They are protecting the nests fiercely and were a blast to catch tonight. I ended on one of my favorite places to spider rig so I could get my daughter involved a little more. Turns out she got involved alright! She caught 5 craaps in about 15 minutes, along with this nice 13" donkey.

We had a nice evening on the lake with each other and took home 17 nice keepers. Plus, my wife and I got to see the big smiles when Bubba netted Sissy's slab as the sun set on our evening. I love my babies!
