    Default Barren Lake status

Haven't been on Barren in a couple of weeks, but was thinking about giving it a try Monday, and was hoping to get a little information. What is the water color, temp, and what has been working lately. Has spyder rigging turn any good numbers, or the deep water lay downs, etc. the way to go. Thanks for any help I have my brother coming up from Tennessee for a day hoping to catch a enough for a good meal.

Went yesterday, water surprisingly clear, 46-49 temps, water rising quickly as they're holding for summer pool. Actually drug my sinkers on channel edges 12-14' an took home 18.

Had 27 keepers from 10-12". Fish still deep on channel edges. Caught most out of 12-15' over 28-30' of water. Water still clear and 49 degrees.

slabseekers1, you are the man! My brother had trouble coming through Nashville so it was after 9:00 when he arrived in BG, making us about 10:00 getting on the water. We fished from 10:00 to 5:30 about 10-13 ft deep in 15-24ft water caught 40 plus but only had 6 keepers and another 4 keepers loss at the boat, but it steal was a great day on the water, I only wish I had the nose for finding fish you have. Hope to see you an the water, and thanks again for your help, and I will give a try again Thursday.

Hey is anybody catching anything below the dam? Headed To BG Saturday night to stay with my son, we thought we'd go fish Sunday morning for some stripes or sauger off the bank. Never fished there if anyone can give some advice i'd appreciate it!

The Corp of Engineers has the dam nearly shut tight. Might be tough fishing below the spillway. You might try calling a pretty fair local bait shop, Barren Sports, 270-629-4867. They're also on Facebook
