That is one of the critters who ate all the fish in my pond!
I've been lucky to be trusted with several unique animals to mount but the piebald otters have to be one of my favorites. This is the 3rd one I have done over the years. I have been fascinated by otters all my life but especially after I saw my first in the wild when one swam up to my boat on Blood River some 25 years ago.
This one was taken on a watershed lake close to Benton. I got it ready for a neat Christmas gift. Very rare animal. The Clarks River NWR folks came by and none of them had ever seen one.

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
Awesome animal. Great job on the mount.
Looks awesome Doug!
Awesome looking mount. Never heard of or Seen a piebald one .
Very nice work
If you cast it they will come.
Good job on a cool animal.
Nice work Doug.
Thanks for the compliments guys. My next big project is getting to the shop tomorrow---a full body whitetail buck with a full body mountain lion jumping onto its back. I've mounted both animals before, just not on the same mount.
When I opened my shop in 2003, the 1st thing thru the door was a 4 pound black crappie. I guess that raised the bar pretty high. I never expected all the African, Asian, North and South American, New Zealand, etc animals that I have had the privilege to work on.
