Then he flew away on his unicorn
Does anyone know the angler who was on last night's Big Old Fish on WPSD (Paducah) who claimed he caught a 4 1/2 lb Crappie? He was holding a nice fish, but 4 1/2 lb ??

I mounted a 4 pound black crappie from west KY several years ago. I weighed that fish and it measured almost 21 inches long. It was legit. I didn't see that particular fish pic on WPSD but lots of times fish are way overspoken, many times when alcohol is involved. I've mounted dozens of 8 pound largemouths (according to the owner) that weighted 5-6 pounds before skinning. I've also mounted several 3+ pound crappie that were barely over 2 pounds. The person can call it whatever they like, just don't ask me to back it up.

here is a "real" 4 1/4 pound black crappie , 19 1/4 inches long, its unfortunate that pictures NEVER do justice to what a fish looks like in person, this fish was caught in a Callaway county ( Missouri ) farm pond
I talked with a fisherman here in Kuttawa just last week that claimed there was a 4 1/4 pound fish caught very recently in the Tennessee River, very near Ky Dam.
This guy said he saw the picture and there were several slab, 2lb fish next to this freak fish...I think they were caught around the barge moorings in the Tennessee River.
