    Default Forum Question

I noticed that sometimes words in my reports are underlined and turned into links. If I click on the underlined word, (or words), it takes me to a website related to that word. Just wondered what the reason was for that.

Sounds like you have "hyperlinking" turned on in whichever device you're using.

I don't know of any such capability on this site, but you might check with Slab to be sure (or to find out how to turn it off, if that's what you want to do).

Are they just showing up on your screen when typing in a message, or are they actually showing up that way after posting ?? I think I've read all of your posts on this forum, and have yet to see any hyperlinked words appear.

I'll go back about a week or month later and look at my posts and a few words appear with links. It'll only be a couple words. Like my last post had the word "four wheeler" linked. I hit the word and it took me to a Wal-Mart.com page selling four wheeler ramps.

I don't have a home computer. I use my cell phone for everything internet related.

It's not a big deal, I just wondered why it was doin that. I'll check some settings on my phone.

I don't see any of that on your posts here. I'm using an iPad.

Yep, that something called "Skimlinks". It's a form of advertising for the site that I enabled a long time ago. It only affects 3 day old threads (threads that have not had a post in three days). This is so I can get some advertising money from lurkers without really affecting active threads.
