    Default Redear/gill fishing from today

Well, it was a stunning day weather wise. We didn't fare too well as far a fishing. My boy caught a pretty big redear and one keeper bluegill. We caught numerous small gills and those darn yellow bass or stripers. We did catch a monster drum, or goo as Doug and Chaunc call them. I thought I had a three pound shellcracker and then that thing surfaced, talk about a downer.

We fished mustard grass, the government stake beds, and every other place. The doggone water temperature was hot, I found 71 degree temps all over the bays. I'll be chasing again tomorrow...I don't think the big.crackers are up yet BUT it won't be long with these temps. Redworms was the bait of choice.

I saw a local guide that catches a lot of them. He said that they should move up today the way the water was warming.

Caught a big mess local yesterday, they haven't quite moved up yet, but they are close. Good fish still in 6' to 8' of water.
