Default Just curious about the big carp?

I'm down here almost 50 weekends a year fish most of the time. This last year has been my worst ever but that's another post. I've only had a few carp jump behind my boat but I don't idle much at all .which is what I here makes them jump. What is your experiences ?

I've already had one jump and hit me in the arm this year, fortunately I was almost at the ramp and going slow.

Most of the Asian carp I see on the lakes are bighead carp. They don't jump like the silver carp do. Both are Asian carp. Go below Barkley Dam and hit the side of your boat if you want to see the silvers jump.

I find the silver carp in the back of the bays, usually in 5-7ft of water, during the winter months on Barkley. Seem to be more this winter.

I dont spend any time in the shallow water other than getting on and off the trailer and very rarely experience any jumpers. Plenty of them on sonar though, that is close enough for me.
