if you've never been on Ky lake, if you can find one open HIRE A GUIDE can't stress that enough, that's one dangerous lake, at least it can be. I don't get down there a lot so I stay in the bays and coves, out on the main lake the weather can change at the drop of a hat
Hope you have a great and safe trip.

Pick a few bays to fish. Trailer your boat between them instead of running if the weather even hints at getting up.

If you do get out on the main lake only run in the channel between the channel markers. You can go from 30 feet to 3 in a hurry.

Buy a map and study it. Stay close to where you want to fish. As for depth, I just got home and the marina we were docked at was in 2 foot of water. We had to drive around the bay to launch and retrieve the boat.

Please don't let my above post scare you. The lake is literally rising about 4 inches a day right now. I got there the last day of draw down. April 1 is the official day they start raising the lake but I think it began Friday
