there's an Academy near me and it is set up just like BPS and Cabellas. It has different sections/departments around the perimeter of the store with so many none of them are very big or have a really big selection. Now the middle of the store, well if you want to look well dressed doing whatever it is you doo in sports related clothing them you'll find it there.
ON the other hand the new Cabella's near me has been remodeled from what it was, as Academy is, the clothing has been cut down and the fishing and fly shop and gun areas have been enlarged, but their prices haven't changed any.
smiles are contagious, spread them around

This is good to hear. I visited the Bowling Green Cabela's and it was tiny and was probably 80% clothing with a FF section about 12' long and 6' wide. While it is about the same time for me to get to BPS in Nashville as it is for me to get to BG it would be nice to have another FF retailer.

Next time you see him, ask him if it was always Mug and Suds. My memory is not as good as it once was (among other things) but I have always remembered it Dog and Suds. That was from the 60s and early 70s. They used to give a glass gallon jug of root beer to any kid who hit a home run in the Calvert City youth baseball league. I didn't play in the Calvert league but an older friend did and he always had a gallon of the best root beer on earth in his fridge during league time.

    I sure will Doug,
Definitely the same place. The root beer was second to none.

Dean just called me. His Mom worked there for some time when it was Dog-n-Suds.

That was before you young whipper-snappers time.
