    Default Winter storm

The bands of freezing rain are all around Benton right now but it looks like the worst is this afternoon. All forecast models say we could get off very light to heavy snow and ice but it appears you folks to the south and east of us are looking down the barrel of some seriously bad stuff.

I got my generator ready this AM in case I have to keep my freezers at the shop going as well as at home and my parent's house. Good luck folks.

I wish it was about 65 degrees and I was longline trolling at KY Lake. I've had about enough of this stuff already.

I started up my generator and let it run for awhile today. Got a big buddy heater and a couple full tanks of propane. Hope I don't need to use either one.

From looking out my front door and what is posted on my phone, it looks like we got hammered but nowhere near as bad as other areas. We got ice then several inches of snow with it still coming down hard. We live in a major subdivision and there has been no traffic past the house. Wind is drifting snow pretty good.

All this fun and our DirecTV went out yesterday. Guess the wife and I will have to find something to do to entertain ourselves.

So much for the day dreaming of 65 degrees and longline trolling on KY Lake for awhile!!!!!!! I can't hardly get out my door to set in my garage and just look at my boat much less hook up and pull it to KY Lake. We got about a half inch of ice and about 8 to 9 inches of snow on top and I think it's supposed to snow until about noon tomorrow. The great part is we still have electric so that's a big plus. A few place in town have been out and the ice has some of the traffic lights around town pulled down.

Made this pic out our back door an hour ago. Wind is howling.

We made some really good choices 21 years ago when we built this house. Natural gas heat, gas logs, gas cook stove and water heater on city water. We were grand central station during the 2009 ice storm.

Be careful out there fellas. It's way south of my area here in NW PA.. It's headed up the east coast tho.
