Welcome back! Keep those "River" reports coming. I'll be back up north this week and will be hitting the River soon.
Went to Markland this evening to check on the sauger and struck out. 4 fishermen and including myself. Only saw four sauger caught and they were all little cigars. It might be close to a year since my last post but I have been working a lot and family things has kept me off of the water. I am slowly starting to get some time to go fishing again. I did make it to wolf creek dAM a few times in the last year to fly fish, all I can say that is some pretty country side down there. I will try to post if I see anything out of meldahl or markland. tight lines

Jack good to hear from you. Keep the reports coming in.
I believe Meldahl on the Ky side has blocked bank fishing below dam due to construction.
I believ medal is shut down because of destruction, I was told they are now removing the cover dam and it will be back to business as usual mid to late December that will be the end of the long wait for the construction to be over

A fellow I go to church with works on the dam project until completion. He said they are now working on the fishing pier and have been for a couple of weeks. The dam project is suppose to be completed by Dec 31, 2014. However, he said he didn't believe they will hit the date for completion. The road access to the sandbar is closed now because of the fishing pier project going on.

Curious how the fishing pier will turn out. Nobody I know have seen any drawings or exactly what we are getting. If it's something comparable to Greenup Dam it would be great. Hopefully we can get out into the swift water.
I have seen the drawings and it will be similar to Greenup dam fishing access area.
That would be great. I've never fished the Greenup pier, but stopped in there one day on the way by just to check it out. If they will build it where we can cast into the current it sure will be nice. I can see myself as a regular in a couple of years when I hit retirement.
