    Default Bluegill on Barren

I was wondering if a guy could have any luck fishing for bluegill on Barren this time of year? Maybe how deep and what kind of bank to look for?

I haven't had my boat out in over a year, too busy with work and other stuff, but I would love to take my little girl somewhere to be able to catch something. I figured maybe this would be the easiest, but you never know about me anymore; seems like since I quit going on a regular basis, I can't catch a hungry piranha in a five gallon bucket! And I know her patience will be very thin. But I would like to catch some that would be big enough to eat.

    Thanks!

Its been several weeks but we did do very well. This has been the best year for shell crackers and gills that I can remember since starting to fish Baren since the early 90s. I just cruised the lake till I found narrow bays wih visble brush and fished a redworm below a bobber. Just talked to friend who lives on the lake and he and his wife fished on Monday, 7/21, said they'd caught a nice mess that day with nearly the same technic.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!

Thanks Slabseeker!! I knew you would know about Barren. I would have made it too complicated. I guess the easier the better.
