Eww, I drifted across one of those nets a couple years ago, that is a nightmare. I don't know who's it was but there wasn't much left of it when me and my knife got done with it.
This is a screen capture of Sledd on Ky Lake. The yellow line is the area of a net that is still in the lake. This is not exact, but you can find it on your locator and make a waypoint to be exact. lost 7 out of 8 rigs myself. Someone said that they were suposed to be out of the lake by March 15...I don't know myself.

Saw a gill net in a sporting goods store in the late 80s that had been dragged up on KY Lake. It was located on one of the most productive sauger and white bass ledges at the time. The net had baits that were brand new to almost rotted away. The guys in the store had inventoried the baits and came to a figure of $600 worth of cranks. This was in the era that Rebel Wee Rs were less than $3 and Bagley's Balsa were less than $5. I know many of those baits were ones I had left on the bottom.
BTW, I just put in a call to the Marshall County F&W CO asking if the net was supposed to be gone by now. I'll post up his reply when he calls back.

Just got a call from a CO. He has seen this thread and will be looking into locating the net. It is supposed to be gone by now.
Thanks for the heads up, Ricky.

I was there this morning, glad I didn't get into it. Thanks for the notice.
