Love bug, and yellow jacket? What kind of water are you fishing in, clearer, or cloudy murky, stained water? What other colors have you tried, is this the first year you have used the love bug color. What color and size, type jig head do you use?

Good one! The next week or so will be one of the best times of the year to catch your biggest crappie. You'll catch more a little later as they move in but seems I catch my biggest crappie at the end of March or first few days in April.

I'm using 6 pound fluorocarbon line with 1/4 ounce blade runner jig heads with silver blades in white/black and green colors. I've used electric chicken orange/chart red/ chart and a ton of others fished side by side on 12ft bnm rods. I forgot that blue pearl mo glo was also doing well. I'm fishing in heavy stained to muddy water but the love bug yellow jacket and blue pearl mo glow is out fishing everything and I'm catching the bigger fish on these also. I've used the love since it came out a few years ago. I caught my PB last year on it that was just a little under 3 pounds. Have caught some really good bass on it also. I've read the jig colors that should be working but these are what's working for me. What colors would you throw out and I'll put some on when I go down there next week.

Hey bubba thanks for getting back with me, great info! What works best for me is the electric chicken! This bait out fished all others last year, this your again, proves to be the color. I havent tried any other colors mainly due to, i pitch it they eat it, simple. lol......Now, the only other colors i have this your are, Bluegrass, BBQ Chicken, Cajun Cricket, Black w/hot pink, White w/chartreuse. If you wanna try those out, get back with me on how these colors preform. Also, if the fishing pressure is on, and i cant get bit on the EC, ill switch it up. Ill drop in with a Marabou Jig, slw fall smaller profile seems to work wonders. Caught my biggest so far this year that way, nice two pounder.

But, I fish a different style than you though bubba. Im a pitcher, vertical jigger. I have never done any pulling of pushing. That intel me covering water, and thats just not happing in my smaller 12ft Jon boat tracker topper, powered with a trolling motor. But, if the fish stay in relation to all the standing timber we have in my lake, that lines the entire creek channel from the upper end to the lower end, im in good shape.

Anyway, yes give those colors a try, and ill get some of what your using and see how they work. Thanks EC
