    Great job pappy!!
I like the 1:5 payout. I think keep that ratio all the way out.
On some lakes the same ramp may work but on ky/barkley there may be too far to travel for some to launch at the same ramp.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

Rules look great to me Pappy . You can leave it or take out about the kill switch, since its stated that its the owners responsibility. Since there is some different opinions on a tie breaker, i think it needs to have a poll put up to vote on. Since this is about getting together and having fun, i think the more is payed out, the more members would try and come. Just saying, if we only pay 1-2 places out of 10-20 boats, after a couple tourneys some may get discouraged and quit attending. If a team wins their entry fee back and a couple extra bucks, then i think they would come back again. Again, this is more for the fun and fellowship than the money. If we are wanting to win more money, well, we better raise the entry fee alot higher.

I made a payout scale, just for example, its based on $30 dollar entry fee and payout every 4th boat.

    #boats............. first................. second.................third..................four th......................fifth..................... ......................bigfish#1........bigfish#2.. .

I wanted everyone to see a payout scale. Since no one will become Donald Trump fishing these tourneys, i figured we try and spread it out as far as we can. This is only my suggestion. Whatever we do decide will be fine with me.

I guess it took me to long to write this .

I doubt many will care about removing the kill switch rule, as many that have a working kill switch don't use them much, anyway. But, I do feel like the wearing of PFD's when motoring "on plane" should be a rule & be enforced. (especially if the kill switch rule is removed) I don't know that we need a PFD rule for "whenever big motor is in use" ... as some may be using their big motor to troll with, or running at idle speed from one place to another, &/or navigating through a "no wake". But, if you're on plane, then a PFD should be worn by all members of the team. And children under 12 years of age must wear a PFD "at all times" when in the boat (per KY law).

I would prefer the weigh-in launch site to be the only launch site for all contestants, even if it means some that live close to the lake may have to travel a little more. It collects everyone into one central spot, making it easier to check boats, gather the entry fees, verify membership, etc.

If we only pay 2 places up to 14 boats, then 3 places at 15 boats .... that's basically less payouts than the 50/30/20 scheme. So, how about this :

    Guaranteed 3 place payout % of (50/30/20) for 6-12 boats ... 4 places paid out for 13 or more boats @ a payout % of (40/30/20/10)
With 5 or less boats ... tournament becomes a Big Fish only, winner take all event.

And as for the "tie breaker" rule .... Big Fish tie = split pot ... Placing in a payout spot tie = coin toss winners takes upper spot, losers drop to next lower spot (even if they are no longer in a payout position).

Hey Chucky that looks great to me.... I might get in some $$$$ that way. Looks really fair and I agree that people will stop coming if only 1 or 2 places always get paid. I think everyone would be happy with the way this payout scale works. I appreciate the time you had to spend to break this down.thx.

At this rate with 6 boats 1/2 will get paid I think if we do that we just fish for fun. I like giving everyone a better chance of winning money. But if we are going to pay there should be some reward in it also. I think payout should never be below 4 boats which is 25% But I would prefer 5 boats 20% I mean you can buy a lottery ticket and get 1 in 4 odds. Just my thoughts.

I think a lot of the issues could be settled by polls. Put up some choices and vote things like. Payout, Big fish, ramps, dates, lakes etc. But the best thing would be to have a meeting somewhere on a Saturday and work it all out then. Set a date and place and see who would attend a meeting to set up the rules. If people won't come to a meeting then they probably won't come to fish.

Pappy I notice 15 people or less making most of the comments. Is this all that would fish or is there more? The thing most agreed on is $30 fee $10 big fish. Could we make a list of who would fish and where they live if we used these numbers. This would be of great help in planning payouts, lakes, etc. Because the people who will fish need to be the ones making the decisions. Also most people may be in the same area of the state. I will fish if and I live in Nicholasville in central ky.

What ever we come up with, the main purpose is to have good fun and fellowship with others that love the sport.
Like you say, no one is going to make it rich.
Also whatever rules we start with, finish out the season before we change them. That's what gets most people, changing the rules to meet the needs of everybody. They are not gonna please all.
