    Default Lake Cumberland question

Heard that the Corps is planning to raise the water level back up sometime this year, have they done it yet? If so, is there a lot of wood and debris floating around?

I haven't been on Cumberland in about 3-4 weeks, but when I was there, they had raised it and there was alot of debris in spots.

According to this : Lake Cumberland Water Level it's already there.

As I understand it, the lake is supposed to be raised ~20ft from where it's been held during the dam repairs ... late Spring or early Summer 2013. Then, next year (or possibly late this year) it will be allowed to come back to the original full pool.

Looking at the chart in the link above, one would have to think that there'd be a lot of debris picked up off the banks & floating, due to the constant & rapid rise in the water level. The wind strength & direction will dictate how much of it is dispersed over the lake, or blown into creeks & pockets.

they are pulling the generators hard to get it back down to 705 and most of the debry is back of coves and on the bank so it is a lot safer now.
