Thread: Holiday Miracle

This is probably not the appropriate board to post this but I had to share this with my friends.

Sunday I got home from deer camp around 6 pm. Brenda wasn't here & the answering machine was beep'n. I NEVER listen to the messages, I just hit the button to stop the beep'n. There were 3 messages. For some reason, don't ask me why, I decided to listen to them. The first 2 were the usual "please send us a donation." The 3rd was a young woman's shaky voice saying she was look'n for Terry Pool. She left a number & asked if I would please call.

Now before I go on I need to tell y'all this part of the story.

I have always believed I had daughter that I have never laid eyes on. When her mother got pregnant she told me that the baby wasn't mine. I have always felt she was. When she was born 33 yrs ago, my mother & I tried to see her but the family wouldn't allow it & insisted that I was not the father. Before her mother got pregnant her family just loved me so I didn't know what to make of it. They didn't treat me bad or anything, they just said I wasn't the father.

Hardly a day has gone by for the last 33 yrs that she has not crossed my mind. I have tried to find her for years but haven't been able to. All I knew was what I though was her name (her last name changed) & her Birthday. I have never denied her & Brenda (my wife) has always known about her. In fact she & my brother have been secretly looking for her too, to try and unite us. Brenda knew how much it meant to me to find her & close that chapter in my life 1 way or the other. What a wonderful woman! Those of you that have met Brenda know what I'm talking about.

Now the rest of the story.

I listened to the message 3 times & I knew it was her. Don't ask me how I knew, I just knew. I called her right then! She answered the phone & I said "is this Jill." Her voice was trembling like she was about to cry as she said "yes." I said "this is Terry Pool & I had a message to call you." She started to cry & said "are you my father?" I never hesitated. I said "Yes hun, I am." She just bawled & that got me leak'n too. We talked for about 45 min til just before Brenda got home. I told Brenda about what happened & she was so excited that she called her back & talked to her for at least 30 min.

I got to meet my daughter for the first time Monday night. The second I laid eyes on her there was an immediate connection and I knew I had been right all these years! Poor thing's got my nose! Bless her heart. She loves to fish & hunt! Lord she's just like me. We have so much in common it's scary!

She hugged me so tight she popped my back! God it felt good! I had been wait'n to hug my girl for 33 yrs & 25 days!

She called her mother yesterday & told her we met. For the first time in 33 yrs her mother told her I was he father and apologized for never telling her who her father was.

Brenda & I are taking her & her boyfriend out to supper tonight & we are gonna spent our first Thanksgiving together tomorrow. I also found out I have an 11 yr old granddaughter & an 8 yr old Grand son I never knew I had. 3 for 1 special! That makes 13 grand kids.

This will be a very special Holiday season for my family. Life is truly good!
