Thread: Shindig Preparation for Newbs

Ok I just wanted to start a preparation list for newbies that may be planning on attending their first shindig. We attended our first one ever this past weekend at KY. A couple people tried to prepare us for the event but they failed miserably. Now you old seasoned, experienced attendees won't gain much from this but please feel free to add to it to help prepare future first timers.
Personally I recommend the following.

72 hours prior to the event cut your eating proportions in half.
48 hours prior to the event cut your eating proportions in half AGAIN!
24 hours before the event, STOP eating. Maybe just a couple liquid refreshments to hold you over till the day. You won't die. You will thank me later.

I recommend sampling all the liquid refreshments offered to you, VERY CAREFULLY.
DO NOT stand by the campfire while doing this. This deserves repeating. Do Not stand too close to the campfire while sampling from fruit jars, paper or plastic cups. It could possibly rank right up there with carburetor cleaner, with a little flavoring added.

RUBBER BOOTS. Take some with ya. We all know what there needed for.
