I think there was really no choice, water is just too high. That's part of fishing, hard to plan ahead with this spring time weather but we'll catch it on a good day some other time! Thanks for your efforts Pappy!
Due to the lake being over 7ft above Summer Pool, & still rising -- muddy water & floating debris -- T-storms due today, with another inch of rain possible for the area -- cold front & windy conditions forecast for Sat .... :o
Sorry ALL, but I just don't see much sense in spending good money to fish in those conditions.
So, as much as I hate to ... I'm cancelling the Slabfest.

Was at Green River Thursday till Saturday afternoon, caught fish anywhere from 3' to 12' deep. Friday rain stopped us about lunch, they were biting but scattered. Big storm hit Friday afternoon and we were at Green River Marina staying in a cabin and waves were about 3 to 4 feet. They lost part of the dock and had to evacuate everyone from the marina Saturday morning. We still were catching fish till we had to check out about noon. They said the water was coming up another 3 feet, so we went home. The lower part of the lake had debris floating around but had good color. Fished Thursday up toward Holmes Bend and it was stained but not too muddy and caught fish around 12 feet deep. We caught several big cats and quite a few crappie, mostly in 10 to 12 inch and more on the 10 side, but had very few smaller than 9 inches to throw back.
