I had a report yesterday of fish being caught in 8' of water on Saturday by guys longline trolling.
Supposed to be 30+mph winds this weekend.
Last 3 times out have been less than productive for me. That's an understatment! I could only muster 6 fish yeaterday.
All night last night and today I retraced my steps for the last 3 days. One thing became very evident. Each day my catch decreased fishing where I've been fish'n. I also tried some deeper water. Little better results but mostly whites and average size. These spots I tried are good spots and will produce fish if the conditions are right.
here the heck are the blacks? Only 1 answer this time of year.
Over and over I have told others not to overlook shallow water in late winter after a warming trend. I need to learn to take my own advice. The last 3 days I've been tell'n myself to check some shallow stuff. I haven't done it yet. I know those blacks are in 5,6,7,8 foot of water. Gotta be.
So tomorrow I'm gonna follow my advice and check some shallow stuff. I'll let ya know how I did.

hey
last year i talked to you in the marina
sun i caught 11 blacke on the rocks there 2 were 2 lbrs
smallest 13 inch
all in 14 ft biting at 8 ft
I tried the shallower stuff on Saturday hitting some of my stakebeds in 4-8ft of water and caught nothing. The only place I could seem to catch any were in 10-14ft of water. We caught 25 with only 7 keepers.
