Kayak DIY
My trolling motor doesn't hang to deep behind my kayak. I fish some thin waters and it will hang up in mud and rocks. I want to rig it to tilt forward so it's out of the water. I looked at a few Utube videos to see what was simplest.
A piece of bungee tied around the shaft and lock lever to disengage the lock.
1 link of small oval chain at the top of the shaft with small hose clamp. I linked 2- 1/4" clamps together to fit around the shaft. A series of pullies for the cord to run thru to the side of the cockpit. A cam cleat to lock the cord and motor up. A 1/8" Quick Link with cord attached goes to the motor.
The author of the video used high priced pullies and cam cleat. Called it a cam lock.

I got it all installed, waiting on delivery of pad eyes.

Please let us know how it works out!
