I was excited about the wheel when I bought the yak. But now I’m considering taking it off. When empty it is easier to pull. But if you load it and it throws the balance off it leans to one side and makes it harder to pull then if the wheel wasn’t there. Mine is a FeelFree Moken. May be better on other yaks. Also the launching issue.

Check into a kayak cart and not use the wheel. I always launch sideways and never had any issues.

I know the correct way. Just didn’t want to get my feet wet. How would you launch if the water is deep right off the bank?

Both videos about the same, don't know why they won't allow viewing outside YouTube on the first one though.

Cool. Probably take getting wet a few times for me but I’ll try that.

Lol, if you think you will get wet, don't know that I would try it in winter...

Personally, I just find an easy place to launch from.

I think you may want to try a float tube!

Y’all are just reinforcing the thoughts I have that I don’t belong in a kayak. The idea fits my head but the details make me shy away. I almost pulled the trigger a few years back. It was then that a man I didn’t know and I spoke with at a landfill and he gave me a 16’ Jon and trailer. That was God telling me I had no business in a kayak. I listened. Y’all be careful in these winter temps. I know about cabin fever and also about not considering everything needed for the trip, like forgetting boots. In my case it’s a net or to tie off properly. Fish on y’all and I hope you find a few.

Didn’t mean to discourage anyone. Lol. Good stable kayak and be smart it’s no problem.
