When I'm fishing from my small 10' v bottom, I go light - including anchor. A 10# mushroom anchor doesn't cut it when the wind is over 15 mph and I figured out a way to keep the anchor in place for wind less than 20 mph.

The mushroom anchor I own has a few holes for mud drainage, so I put a plastic tent spike through one of them and zipped tied it to the anchor shaft. For now, the spike is 4" below the bottom and helps big time! No more having to haul in a 15# anchor at my age. I can post a photo if needed.
