I have the trailer already. I am really looking to making one my own. I will likely enjoy the build more than the trailer itself.

I converted a jet ski trailer to carry my big pirogue or kayaks. Works great. Also use it to pull behind the 4wheeler to fish remote oxbow lakes.

There's a double jet ski trailer on my local marketplace at a super low price. It's been in salt water and shows it badly.
It's wide enough for what we want to do with it. Just don't want to deal with pitted metal.

There are ways to stop the rust if it is not too far gone

My son and I looked at another trailer yesterday. It's super old with a 6X10 sheet of aluminum on the bed for $275. The axle is bent and the hubs are made into the rims. The wheels might have a 48" width. Steel frame is pitted pretty bad, some look like pieces welded together for the lengths. The 1/4" carriage head bolts holding the aluminum on look like 1/8". I'm specking load to myself, my dislikes. He says make me an offer, I said $100, no I'll need $150. We left, told him we'd think about it. I think it's a waste of money and time. To much to buy to replace. My son says the aluminum is worth more than that.

My son and I looked at an old boat trailer yesterday, name plate has 1952 for $200. Super heavy frame made with 3/16X1 3/4" square tube and 1/4X 2 1/4" angle and 1/4X 2" tongue. 4 lug 12" wheels, 1 fender. Tilt bed which we will made solid. Lots of keel and guide rollers with brackets that we don't need, may roll better with cleaned up or new axles. Frame looks pretty good, bolts and add-ons are pitted. It was dark when we got it home. Look it over today to see what can be removed and what needs replaced.
We have 4 trailers with 5 lug hubs, may replace the 4 lug hubs so they're all the same. Inspect bearings.
Time to get started.

Sounds like it's gonna make a good trailer.
