Default Millennium seats - with or without the optional straps…

Thinking of replacing one of my seats with a Millennium, but not sure I’ll like those side straps. I saw on their site today that there are optional “cables” that look like they fit further back and don’t take up as much side space. Anyone have them, and / or have an opinion on using them?

You will like the seat for sure. I do not mind the straps very much. Someone hear makes bars to replace the straps with. The ones that have them love them. I keep saying I am going to order the bars but I never get around to it

I have the Millennium cables. Much better than the nylon straps that they come with

Well... I got one tonight. A guy had one on Facebook marketplace for $50, including the little side-bracket piece that holds a drink, pliers / tools, and a little tray for lures or whatever you want to put on there. I thought it was a pretty good deal for $50. A couple of light speckled stains, but for $50, I wasn't expecting it to be new. Probably some kind of fish attractant.

Here is it side by side with my old seat. I had it attached to the "seat spider" my new Millennium seat is now on, and it was an easy swap. Tried it out tonight. Very comfy. I can't wait to use it! The green even matches my little Bass Raider boat better than the old chairs I had. I haven't swapped out the other seat yet, and I'm not sure if I will, because nobody ever comes fishing with me. If they do... I guess they get the old chair, because I ain't giving up the new one.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I have used the straps, the little cable and Rickie's bar. All work fine, but I prefer the cable as I normally put a life jacket on the seat backwards, it is handy to get too if needed and keeps the water patrol from stopping me to check if I am legal.

I've got a set with the Podunk bars. I really like them.
