Some waders would work if they are comfy sitting down, or a rain suit, knee high rubber boots
Seeing the Rain Gear article going got me thinking about cold weather kayak wear. I know I need something besides my crocs and water shoes, what else? What clothing is recommended? I know they say anything with cotton is a no, no. I'm not buying one of the $400 clothing they sell, cost more then my kayak...lol.

GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Whatever you wear, be sure that you can swim in them, incase of an accident. When it is cold I typically wear breathable waders with a paddling specific top (waterproof with neoprene and velcro wrist and neck). I find this more versatile than my full drysuit (drysuit is warmer though). Intermediate temps, I wear rain pants and normal shirt.
Dressing in layers is the key to staying warm. I use rain gear as an outer shell to help hold in heat and keep water off me. A knit toboggan hat and a cold weather Buff face shield definitely help to stay warm. Wool socks retain heat better than most fabrics, even when wet.

I use rain gear over my other clothes. Frog Toggs brand is what I use . They are
