Same here, every paddle I owned always floated for whitewater kayaking. Even when I broke Werner’s very first carbon ergonarmic handled paddle on the Gaulie River one day. Broken paddles still floated. And that one went back to Werner as they wanted their engineers to study why it broke. That was a very nasty swim down a class 5 rapids for a quarter of a mile. Test the paddle out. Take it to some water to make sure it floats and test. It will float.

A trick I learned many years ago for dip nets, was to take scrap styrofoam and stuff it down the hollow aluminum tube handle of the net to make it buoyant. I sure where needed it would work on paddles.
