Default July canoe jug fishing trips.

The planning started about 3 weeks ago. The one canoe I had has now multiplied to three. Craigslist is bad for my bank account, Ha. The first canoe was found at a sporting goods store on managers special, an Old Town Saranac three seater. Next up was an Old Town 158 Guide series with Ash and web seats. The final canoe came home a few days ago an Old Town Guide 147. 360 degree lights were built for the canoes and then rebuilt so they could be moved to either end quickly. ( Found out I didnt like the light in the back of the canoe when I was sat backwards in the front seat to balance the boat out better). Old jugs that have sat idle for 2 + years were rebuilt to weighted tip up style jugs ( I like them much better). Catlapa worms were gathered from the trees in the yard and placed in the freezer awaiting the start of the trips. Utility trailer was modified to carry three canoes, and paddles were built.

So now on to the participants, myself and 9 young adults fished over the next three days, some made multiple trips starting July 1st to July 3rd.

Over the 3 days 32 catfish were caught, chicken liver, Skipjack, hotdogs and Catalpa worms were used as bait, two of the fish were taken on chicken livers the rest fell victim to thse green and black worms.

Since taking a new job I have worked most every day so I have not had a chance to do and fishing so this 4 days off was a much needed break and some much needed time on the water. It was also a chance to give back somethng that was given to me. Many years ago a love of the outdoors was instilled in me, and memories of time shared innthe outdoors. It never hurts to know you can go catch your own dinner if needed.

As it sit here tired from a day of putting away all the gear and frying fish. I also sit here with a full belly, a happy heart and a wealth of new memories to keep a smile on my face until next time.

Now here come the pictures in no specific order. Name: IMG_20170701_223720065.jpg

Congrats on the 3 days of fishing, catching and the safe trip. I would say those smiles will be remembered for a lot time. Great pic of the trip.

I would hope they will be remembered for years to come. I have to get some projects done and go do it again real soon.

Most welcome. I really enjoyed taking the canoes, so much easier than taking the big boat and its good exercise.
