Yup, that's how I mounted mine. Works perfect.

saw a person mount one inside of a fiberglass hull, using plumbers puddy, the shuff you put around a sink drain before you tighten it down.thinking this might work on a kayak plastic bottom.he stated it worked very well, and if you want to remove it just pry it up.

I did mine inside the hull. Works great. Marine goop is fairly cheap and is what's recommended. It's also kinda cool to play with

I mounted mine inside buy using a small square piece of foam from a dollar store neeling pad for gardening. Just cut it to size and used marine goop to mount it to the floor of the kayak. This way you can use the same transducer on a different kayak. just have to remember to add a small amount of water before you put your transducer in each trip.

Use lots of goop and try to avoid bubbles in it, will work fine.

I've been using Goop Marine forever and it's the best thing you can use for anything Water related. It will work for the transducer and anything else. Just sayin...

Works great, I used "duct seal". I've done a thru hull mount with a Down View unit and a standard 2d unit.
