A friend gave me some very good advice, sit in it out in the yard put everything like you think you want it and cast and retrieve. Act like you are putting fish in a basket or cooler or on a stringer....This will save you going all the way to the water and discovering you need to change something. The first time out in my new kayak I had taken his advice and thought I had everything laid out almost perfect, only to discover that I could not reach my cooler to put my fish in, it was behind my tackle crate and on my kayak that is too far back. I suggest doing this in the back yard out of view of the neighbors, as they might have some smart remarks seeing you in your kayak fishing in the yard. That is a nice kayak, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Great looking Yak. Every time I go out in mine, I think of something better to do, for the next outing. I'm looking into a portable fish finder. It will suit my needs better, until I decide I want it to be permanent. See what I mean? You'll have a great time fixing it up the way you want it. Tight Lines my friend.

Great looking ride. What kind of fish finder are you putting on it. I looked at a lot of different ways to mount the transducer before I settled on a flip down mount in the rear of the kayak

The fish finder I got for it is a Garmin Striker 4 for what features it has and the price could not beat it .. I got a Scotty transducer mount on the way looked at the different styles and liked that one.. just finding the right location is going to be the fun part ..thinking in the rear or just off the side behind the seat
