    Default Sailboat theory

So I went fishing but got more exercise than fishing done. Just a little breezy today. However, I noticed that if you angle the right way even going into the wind you can make forward progress easier. I'll be Googling sailboat tacking into the wind.

That's rougher than I've been in with my Kayak. Looks a bit like Carlyle

I've never noticed a stability problem in high wind but making headway can be a different story

My old Perception Mirage can handle any weather but it has aged better than I have. I used to like to push the limits of my kayak, now I limit myself to less strenuous activity.

    Rusty,
It's an Ocean Kayak Big Game II. They call it camo, but it kinda looks more like it once belonged to a sloppy painter! :-)
What are you paddling? ....... Never mind, I just saw another one of your posts where you showed your Ocean Kayak Prowler. Those are tried and true yaks. I had a OK Prowler before the Big Game II except it was purchased at Bass Pro under the name of OK Endeavor. Same kayak, except the color was Sand. I remember it was pretty quick on the water for a fishing rig and I would have kept it if it had a raised seat.

I built a riser for my seat. The only thing I wish was different was more room right in front of the seat, a big flat area

I was in a KBF (kayak bass fishing) tournament on Mozingo Sunday. Winds were gusting to something like 25-30 mph. That is as rough as I ever want to be in!
