Default Canoe Rebuild----Sounds quick and easy, Right?

As my wife says, "another hair brained, halfwit project". I can't seem to help myself.

The craigslist ad said, Canoe make offer. I just couldn't resist.

So I've picked up a Mad River Malecite 16' 5" canoe. It's a 1992 model, kevlar with wood trim.

Great project to occupy my time when it was too cold or too rainy to fish.

Washed, wet sanded, buffed, the original hull looks really good. Now to replace the hardware.

Well, almost finished. Still need to stain and oil all of this wood.

More to come...........hopefully finished by weekend and out to catch a few crappie from the small water close by.

Thanks guys. I'll be sure to show the finished product. Hopefully it'll be Sunday evening with a few on the stringer over the side!
