Cool looking ride. I would need a trailer but looks real stable. Have fun with it.
Bought this Beavertail Stealth 2000 duck hunting boat a couple of months ago just for fishing. I have fished in several kayaks in the past, but wanted to be able to have a more standard boat seat and be able to stand and walk for comfort. Happy so far...can't dance on the boat, but can stand and walk around...boat wobbles but i have stayed dry so far. I raise and lower a 12 lb anchor from the front without going in. The trade off seems to be a hefty lift to put her in the truck...think i read it weighs about 150 pounds
So far, i have added a 4 rod holder to the back of my seat, a cleat to the front for anchor tie off, a 40lb thrust trolling motor, and use a Garmin Striker 7sv. Still have some layout work to do, but every trip is a bit better than the last
The garmin blows me away, but my opinion doesn't mean anything for brand comparison...have been away from sonar units since the 90's when dads old unit showed fish as blobs of black squares
Also, i know the boat isnt registered yet as Indiana requires....it's in the works.
I hope the pic loads right...new to using tapatalk and couldnt find the test post forum. Not sure if i was holding phone right way to make it post right side up.

Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Looks great.
Why a 12 lb anchor?
A buddy of mine had one a few years ago that he bought just for duck hunting with me and a couple others that had made similar ones out of plywood. He ended up trading it off for a wooden model, but I always remember thinking it would have made a great fishing rig. The weight scared me off a bit for a fishing platform, but it was very comfy to hunt out of.
Yet another buddy had one too, but he put a little mini-blind on it and I guess the extra weight was too much. THey tried hunting two out of it and when they came up to shoot - they flipped themselves. Luckily it was in a typical shallow duck march - but they got a good wet soaking from it...
I think it'd be a great fishing rig and as you know, there's gobs of room in it... I have a two man pontoon boat that's equally hard to lift and deal with - but once it's on the water - it's very comfortable.
Thanks for all the comments.
I agree...the 12lb anchor is overkill. I will go to a smaller one someday.
The weight only bothers me when i have to load on a slope...which is most places i launch unfortunately. I might try to use/alter one of the winch cranes they use to lift deer into truck beds to see if i can make the process easier.
I used to fish a full size pontoon...i miss that kind of room comfort but trailering and wind operation were drawbacks. Those small pontoons look really tempting
