    Default WS Ride 135 / 115 - Anybody using a cooler as a seat?

With a crate in the tankwell of my Ride 135 I don't have much room to fit a cooler. I currently have the Airpro Max3 high/low seat, but thinking about picking up an RTIC or other rotomolded cooler and using it as a seat in lieu of the Airpro. Anyone else done such a thing? If so how was the stability after moving to taller profile?

Stability drops and you will need a longer paddle the whole dynamic will change. I may would look into a cooler bag like ice mule for behind the crate or on the bow before I would consider a seat cooler swap. And it is much cheaper . Add a pair of pad eyes on the bow and a bungee will keep it in place

Yeah, I figure the stability will drop, but curious if it does to a point that is kinda ridiculous. Good point about the paddle, but I do already use a 260mm due to my height. Thanks for the feedback. I didn't think about the cooler bags.

Not sure where you are located but ice mule is at great outdoor provision co in NC. The have an angler pro. Packs flat and small. Keeps ice all day with fish in the summer. They will hold good size saltwater fish. Check it out

I ain't gonna lie I'm looking for a cooler to hold beer (and water). Fish that I keep I just use a stringer. Was thinking about a snazzy rotomolded cooler because I could also use it outside of the kayak. I like buying multiuse items which prompted me to start exploring this.

I might fab something up out stuff I have laying around in the same size of 26 quart or so and see what it does.

    thanks again.

I use a soft sided "Polarbear" brand cooler behind my Max seat. I use the 12 can and the backpack style. The position of my seat allows me room right behind it in between the seat and my crate,

Just bought one of the RTIC softside cooler, check out their lunch box cooler. May be the right one for your needs.
